Joshua Foundation 2010 In Review...

Joshua House Foundation 2010 Spring fundraiser

The Fund Raiser April 13th at Engine House 25 was a very nice evening.  The number of people in attendance turned out to be more than we had hoped for which made for great night for the foundation.

We still have a long way to go but our commitment to get this retreat house built stays strong.  If ever you feel like you'd like to help in any way, time, financially, etc, please contact Craig @ craig@thejoshuahouse.org or craig@fedmc.com

Thank you for your support

Clothing drive

The Joshua Foundation assisted The Living Ministry collecting warm winter clothes for the homeless this year.  In all, three over-filled pickup truck loads of new and very nice warm winter clothes and coats were provided by our donors!  Several of our volunteers assisted on Saturday, November 20th sharing and distributing these donations to 300 homeless and poor of our city.

Thanksgiving

The Joshua Foundation assisted in helping nearly 100 deserving families receive a decorated basket that included: turkey, green beans, cranberry sauce, candied yams, corn, gravy, stuffing, macaroni cheese, potatoes, and dessert.  We partnered with New Dawn Beginnings and Urban Impact to connect with these families, assemble the baskets and personally deliver the wrapped baskets with the message and love of Jesus Christ.  Our donors provided the funds and food items and our volunteers gathered Nov 19th to sort, pack, decorate the baskets.  In addition we had enough food to put toward a hot meal that was prepared for senior citizen residents that live in a North View Heights care home as well as a meal that was served to Oliver School Students some of which enjoyed the only Thanksgiving meal they would have.

Joshua Foundation Christmas party

The Joshua Foundation carried out an excellent party for the children of the Northside.  Its third year saw 100 elementary age children   attend the party and leave with large bags full of blessings. These kids sung carols, made crafts, ate cookies and ice cream and heard the story of the birth of our Savior.  This year was really special because all the kids received a nice present, brand new winter coat/hat/gloves, new books, backpacks and other small gifts.  Our prayer and message to them was Jesus came because he loves you and we do too.
